EDUCATION

Start Here! We can’t begin to tell you how excited we are that you are joining us on this amazing mission to change foster care in Orange County. God is tugging on your heart and is going to use you in incredible ways. Our goal is to empower you and to protect our most vulnerable kids.

In order to do this, your first step in volunteering is to attend one of our Education Events. Here you will learn everything you need to know to work most effectively with our kids.

Before you can volunteer in any capacity with foster kids, you must do the following:

  1. Attend one of our monthly Education Events  (101: Foster Youth and Families Volunteer Orientation)
  2. A Background Check will be completed after you have attended the Education Event.

Upon completing these two steps, you will be on your way to making an impact on the lives of the 3,000 foster youth in our community.

Volunteer Orientation

We have a vision that Mariners will be the most educated church on foster care and the challenging issues that families in our community are facing. In order to do that, we must educate and equip our volunteers with the tools necessary to serve and support these families and children. Join us for a mandatory Volunteer Orientation in order to take your first step towards serving in our Foster Youth & Families Ministry.
